I’m Argentinian, but I could not go back to Buenos Aires. I got hooked to Real Madrid for my entire life and I had no strength to go back. One blonde kid started calling me “mister” and even today when I hear Butragueño calling me like that I feel that I must keep guiding him. Nobody can choose their birthplace, but I was able to find the place where I belong. It’s in that little square between the streets Castellana, Padre Damián, Concha Espina and Rafael Salgado.

Remember when Julio Cesar paid a tribute to Iker Casillas after winning the Confederations Cup with Brazil in 2013. After he received the Golden Glove award for the best goalkeeper of the tournament, he dedicated the award to Spain’s goalkeeper saying: “I know Iker has had a bad season and I wanted to wear his shirt while receiving my award to pay a tribute and show my respects to the amazing goalkeeper.”
